Scroll bars
These run vertically at the right of the screen, and horizontally at the bottom of the screen. These allow you to
scroll or move up and down, and from left to right by clicking your mouse on anywhere on the scroll bar.

Excel is unable to display your entire spreadsheet on your screen at a time. The scroll bars are very useful for moving around in your spreadsheet.

Scroll bars also contain:

    Scroll arrows
The vertical scroll bar has the up and down arrow, and the horizontal scroll bar has the left and right arrow. You can click on these with your mouse to scroll your spreadsheet.

    Scroll boxes
are on each scroll bar and indicate the position in your spreadsheet.

Other items include:

    Tab Scrolling Buttons
are located on the left-hand side of the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the Excel screen. These allow you to scroll through the different spreadsheets in the
    workbook.

    Sheet Tabs
Tabs that identify the different spreadsheets in the workbook. A workbook can contain up to 255 spreadsheets "stacked" on top of each other.

    Tab Split Box
which is the small box located between the sheet tabs and the horizontal scroll bar. When you
drag this to the right or left it adjusts the size of the horizontal scroll bar and tab sheet window.
